Biography

Growing up in the spotlight of the high-stakes world of competitive Irish dancing gave singer-songwriter Owen Luebbers the drive to be a champion—a mindset that continues to shape his creative work. For over two decades, Irish dancing was both the stage where he could speak and the system that taught him to stay silent. Now, for the first time, he’s allowing himself to remove the gag.

Owen is an American-born, Dublin-based artist whose songs walk the line between boldly cinematic textures and raw, intimate moments. Blending textured guitars, soft vocals, and atmospheric production, his music lives somewhere between diary entry and spiritual exorcism. It’s soft on the outside, but blistering from within.

His new project, WHITEOUT, explores the beauty and horror of a life spent in the competitive dance world. The songs track the dichotomy of chasing success: the joy of getting everything you ever wanted, and the emptiness that lingers when the costume comes off.

WHITEOUT isn’t just about looking to the past for answers, it’s a reclamation. Through found-material collages, self-shot footage, and layered visuals, Owen is building a new kind of stage—one that rewards honesty and truth rather than perfection. His visuals blend camcorder footage, internet ephemera, dance archive clips, and decaying digital textures into a world that feels both tactile and haunted.

As Owen steps into a new era of artistic expression, he invites listeners to share the stage with him in all its glory and all its ugliness—to exorcise the pain and reach catharsis on the other side.
